Summer
Internship Symposium, 2004
Summer Internships 2004 was a great success. 74 students were placed in 26 NGOs across Pakistan. The students
and the respective NGO’s benefited from this programme
in enhancing the learning of the students and
facilitated the NGOs in their various activities. LUMS
(SEDC), on the other hand, was successful in bridging
the gap between the social sector and the students.
To celebrate this success and to encourage our students
to work in the social sector a Symposium was arranged
where students were awarded certificates on successfully
completing the programme. The Summer Internship Symposium
was held on 5th of April, 2005 in LUMS.
SEDC - Summer Internship Award & Orientation Programme -2005
In the year 2005, 105 students were placed in 45 NGOs. The Summer Internship Award & Orientation Programme was held on May 12th, 2006. The officials of various NGOs participated in Orientation session and shared their views to boost the effectiveness of future programmes. Students were awarded with their certificates after their successful completion of the Internship in 2005.
Summer
Internships 2006
The year 2006 again provided another marvelous opportunity for LUMS student body to undertake Summer Internships. 95 students were placed in NGOs within Pakistan. Internees are in the process of submitting their deliverables.
The
OJA Process
1.
Faculty Consultancy Project
Once
an NGO/CBO contacts LUMS for consultancy and describes
its requirement, we will evaluate a number of factors
like the scope of the assistance (long-term or short-term),
the type of help, resource persons, logistics, and costs
involved. These will be incorporated in the Terms of
Reference (TOR). This is Phase-1 of the consultancy
process termed as Problem Identification.
